Default 5.7 vs 5.3 Engine

I've searched but couldn't find an answer so please bear with me.
Is there any big advantage or disadvantage betweeen a2000 5.3 engine and a '99 5.7? Ive got an opportunity to buy either, and both have 130K miles and both are the same price. I know the obvious difference in looks, etc.
I'mconcerned about reliabilty, of one over the other. Both are in 4x4 1500s and, naturally, the 2000 has the tow haul trans. I don't know if that should be a concern.
Thanks for any help or info you can give me.

Ive heard 5.3 is better but thats from guys with allot of mods. You know what trans is in the 5.7 if it the same than id go for the one that gets better gas mileage. The tow haul is a great thing if you tow.

Thanks every one for your answers. I appreciate it and will deferr to you opinions an knowledge. Since this is my first GM veh in MANY years, after being a Blue Oval guy, my GM knowledge stopped with the points/condensor distributors. lol.
The 5.7 is an extended cab short bed, which I like, and the 5.3 is a std cab long bed, but I'm more interested in the reliability.

Thanks again

I go with 5.3 in terms of reliability and fuel economy.
