Default Dood panel removal

Does anyone know of an easy way to remove the front door panels on a 99 ex cab? I want to replace my speakers, but am having great difficulty getting the panels off. It has power windows/locks.

yup. pull the switch panel out and unplug it. you better get a removal tool if you dont wanna mess the panel up or buy new retainers. then use the tool to pop ever retainer out. and bam its ready to pull right out.

Not a 99,if its a "new" body style...The panel has no retainers...Remove 2 screws...1 under the armrest and 1 behind the lock slider..then lift the panel straight up

Thanks a bunch buddy. Yeah, it is the newer body style. What is the best way to access the screw behind the lock slider? Pop the slider out?

Yes..pop out the black rectangle..pop out the trim piece around the handle...pop off the triangle piece up high...remove the 2 screws....lift up the window switch and unplug the wires..then "lift" the panel up

OK...OK...what about the older body style.Mine is a 99 but is a 2500 and has the older body and panels.

What is the trick.

So far I have removed the two screws on the armrest, and popped all the panel retainers but it is still very connected around the latch mechanism.

You have to take the trim piece that goes around the handle off. The best way I have found is by using a small plastic putty knife (it won't scratch or gouge the plastic). You have to stick it in the small crack that is between the flat plastic piece (the one that your knuckles touch when opening the door) and the outer trim. There are 2 or 3 tabs that once you put the putty knife in there you will see how it will pull straight off with the knife wedged in there. The handle and the piece that your knuckle touches will stay on the door. Hope this makes sense - Good Luck!
