Default Emergency Brake Question

My Emergency brake goes all the way to the floor. How do you adjust this? My tire dealer said there are a separate set of pads in the rear calipers to adjust or replace. Does anyone have a PDF file on how to do this?

What year truck? The 99 and up with rear disc brakes does utilize a drum/shoe style e-brake. It is basically the same as any drum brake set-up once you remove the brake rotor. The rotor is actually both a rotor and a drum in one, but the drum is only for the e-brake. There is also an adjustment about 1/2 way down the cable where it "Y's" off. On the driver side follow the e-brake cable and you will see an adjusting nut. I have also used a spacer on that adjuster to get more life out of the shoes. They aren't cheap. Good luck!

It's an 02'. May just wait a while. Don't like putting force on the tranny parking on hills though.
