im familiar with what you are talking about, because i wanted to put a tb spacer on my truck but when i measured there isnt enough clearence between the fan shroud and the elbow on the intake system. i have the 77 series and theres only about an inch between the two.

You are right and wrong. You cannot use the k&n cold air intake and the throttle body spacer unless you do some modification to the tube and buy a new hose. It's not the clearance of the hood that is the problem, it's the clearance between the throttle body, with the spacer and the fan and fan shroud. What happens is when you add the spacer, it adds an inch on how far out your throttle body sits whichs it return you loose and inch of space between the throttle body and the fan shroud. I did this on my truck about 2 years ago and have had no problems since. Let me know if your still interested in the combo and I'll explain on how to do it.

Well i had a 97' silverado 1500 with the 5.7 and i put a KnN cold airintake and a tb on it. there was a little clearence problem with the top of the tube and the hood were the hood sat really tight on the tube. But i never had any trouble with it. Actually it worked awsome for me i had great gains in HP and my MPG increased by at least 3 so jumping from about 14 to 17 was really nice for me. Good luck with what ever u do.

yeah...i have a 2000 silverado and i out the poweraid tbs in it...its a tight fit even with stock intake. The onyl aftermarket intake that will fit with the tbs is the airaid one. i plan on getting that one soon, even though it is $50 more.
