Default Starter Issues

I have a 1969 Cst truck, issue after issues with the starter.

The starter will looses its grab after a bout a second of cranking and the wines but isn't turning the motor. Anyone ever had this issue before?

I have replaced the starter a couple of times and harness going to the starter. Wondering if there is issues with cheap solenoids or spring in the thing.

Would like to drive my truck but this issue is a stubborn one.

Default RE: Starter Issues

I had the same issue with a 396 in a jet boat. I kept thinking I wasn't shimming the starter correctly but it turned out that the flywheel was warped.

I don't know if this is your problem, but if you have it shimmed proberly, you might want to check the flywheel.
