Default Greetings from South Florida!

I'm a truck guy who's in the market for a new truck. I've been a lifelong fan of Chevrolet but I also like the Tundra. I'm currently driving a 1994 Chevrolet K1500 Silverado Z71 that I purchased brand new 16 years ago. I just barely got her broke in! Don't know whether to buy new or used. There are things that I like about both the Silverado and the Tundra and there are things that I don't like about both trucks also. It's making it hard for me to justify spending nearly $40k on a new truck. So, I'm also considering buying a used truck as well. I seem to like the first generation Tundras (up to year '06) more than the second generation. Maybe I can get some advice from some of you truck gurus on this site.

I am a big fan of the 99 and newer Silverados with the 5.3 liter motor. I think they have the best fuel mileage to power ratio. Plus I am seeing them on a regular basis with 200,000 plus still running like new. I have a 2001 with 150,000 and it is still running like a champ.
By the way I am originally from S. FLA. myself (Homestead) lived there all my life up to about 4 1/2 years ago.
