Hi from Northern CA: I need a small pick up truck, help?
Hey y'all, sending you greetings from the San Francisco Bay Area.
I'm on the prowl for my first truck (my poor little 84' mazda 626 is on her last leg). I'm 6'3 and don't like single cab trucks so I'm looking for an ext cab, something modestly sized - I live in San Francisco so parking can be a pain. I won't be doing any big hauling, would only use it for general use plus transport music gear (I'm a musician) and also tools - paints, saws, etc.
I plan on getting something used, more than likely from a private seller, my budget is $8.5-9 tops. So it would be a used truck of course. The lower the miles the better of course but I'd like to keep it around 80k. Would prefer something 2000 or newer.
I've been looking at Tacomas but they go for quite a bit used. I was also looking at the GMC Canyon, Nissan Frontier - and any other suggestions you may have.
From your experience, what seems like the best value/ well equipped, safe?
Thanks!

Welcome to Truck Forums Beedoola
Glad your joined us.
Have you considered a Chevy Blazer or a Tahoe or possibly a Cross over???
If you truck... you will need a truck topper / truck cap.
You'll want to keep your equipment dry. And you will want to keep your painting equipment warm.
