Good first truck
I'm getting my license soon and I want to get a pickup truck. I'm pretty sure I want Diesel and something with an extended cab. I know diesel's a lot more expensive but I want something that will last a long time. I also will be plowing in the winter for my dad. So I want a reliable truck that will be a good DD but also something that will be good for plowing. Diesel would be nice and I should be able to afford it with the money I make plowing. What would you guys recommend? Thanks

There is a lot of Pros and Cons to having a Diesel truck as a plow truck.
The first and most obvious CON is turbo lag
As you move forward then drop your blade and it that deep snow your truck is still not at peak horsepower or torque yet and your turbo is only just starting to spool up. With that your consequently putting your foot deeper into the throttle burning more fuel
On the up side as a PRO the 2500HD is a heavier truck that adds to you ability to maintain traction.
