I am new to the board. Hello. I am looking into purchasing a truck or more preferably a suv in the next couple weeks. I am looking to haul building materials (ie. bricks, lumber etc..) with a trailer most likely. I would like some recomendations of what kind of truck would be best suited for this kind of task? Or even better since I have kids which suv may be best for this task? I would love your stories good and bad. I have been leaning toward a silverado if I am looking into trucks. And a tahoe if an suv. I have heard bad things about durango heads but have heard they pull the most wieght for thier class. My price range isnt a lot 7000 to be close and it will be a used car for sure. But suggestions are welcome.

I have 3 boys and they all fit fine in the back of my crew cab. I have a 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 SLT Z71 Crew Cab.

As far as hauling goes, I don't do a lot of it ...but my brother had it before me and did yank a trailer around with a lot of farm equipment, bales of hay, etc and said it was very capable. I tug ATV's and Jet Ski's around with it.

If you are doing contracting work ...take a look at the1999 2500's ... You can probably find one with all of the bells and whistles for that price.
