Default Factory running boards for 2013 GMC

I purchased a 2013 GMC with factory installed running boards. They seem too high off the ground to be functional. Plus, they're very close to the bottom of the doors. This makes foot placement and ideal use of these running boards as positioned by the factory very difficult. I went back to see if they had an adapter to lower the running boards and the answer was no. Any suggestions other than going to a fabrication shop?

Well .... you could bend them downwards, or make brackets or something. You'll prettymuch need to have something fabricated to lower them, unless you want to look at aftermarket running boards.

Without seeing pictures , it's hard to give suggestions.
If the current mounting points can't be moved down and redrilled, your looking at new fabricated brackets or fabricated bracket extensions

I felt mine were too low. I've learned to like them now.
