RE: tundra power
Isuzu is an American company and only recently has the Allison Tranny become a 3rd party. That really isn't a valid rip on the Dmax and obviously GM was wise enough to recognize the potential of this machine.
Oh and my fathers company made the components for the Duramax, so I am defenitely not going to say they are foreign

The point I am making is that GM,Ford and all of the auto companies get parts, advice, design help and so on from many sources. No one company produces an All-American made product.
Parts come from Mexico,Canada,Japan,Korea and undoubtedly before long from China.
Not one company stands alone , all get parts from suppliers, some of these suppliers may produce parts for more than one company.
Just don't get too excited about any one product.

RE: tundra power
That is the sad part in it all, but it is coming back to America. Corporations are realizing that although foreign companys have a large workforce, they lack the skills needed to make a good quality product. Our tool and die shop is actually exporting tools to China now because they have tried and failed miserably
