How's it going everyone!
I have a blue 1988 Chevy C/K1500 that I am trying to sell to an enthusiast rather than someone looking just to purchase another truck. It was purchased new at Lukken Chevrolet in Lagrange, GA by my great grandfather and I am the 2nd owner of this truck.
Exterior: The paint still is in good condition overall but there are some spots where the paints chipped. There is very mild surface rust on some of these area's where there is bare metal however nothing that a saturday and 150 grit paper or foil. Also on the drivers side front fender and quarter panel of the bed are dents where someone kicked the side of the truck a couple of weeks ago but otherwise a straight body. The body and frame are in very good condition for the age of this truck.
Interior: The interior is also in pretty good condition! The interior is blue with black rubber flooring and 2 rubber mats. The truck came from the dealership without the headboard I believe, however the truck does have holes for one to be installed. No cracks in the dash or the seat but there are 2 rips in the back of the bench. All gauges are electronic and work perfectly. The air conditioner needs to be charged unless you like warm air and the truck does not have heating because I had a bypass done in place of the heater core.
Electronics: As said above, the electronic dash works perfectly. The Craig radio needs to be replaced as it fades in and out as you drive but it does light up. Pixels for the air conditioner work perfectly also. Hazard lights, headlights, and front blinkers work however the rears do not (probrably a short).
Engine and Transmission: This truck was taken off the road in 1996 once my grandfather's health decreased and sat under a car port until 2007 when he died. All fluids were recently changed in February but will be changed again for the new owner. It has the 305 motor. Also the alternator and starter were replaced about 4 months ago. The heater core began to leak antifreeze in December of 2009, so a bypass was done in place of it. This truck needs nothing at the moment and drives good (will need a catalytic converter soon though). The transmission shifts perfectly and is very smooth.
Wheels, tires, and brakes: Tires are original and in good condition. There are 3 hubcaps which are on the truck. Brake pads were changed and drums were checked 4 months ago. This truck stops well and brakes will be checked for buyer before pickup.
Overall this is a very sturdy and reliable pickup that needs nothing but fuel to drive. I'd honestly drive this truck about anywhere in the U.S if it had cold air and a working heater. I would like to sell this truck before October as I am trying to help out my parents with their business. I'm not sure what I can get for this truck, but I'd like to price it around $3,000 or best offer. If you think the price is high please do not hesitate to send me an email at stefoncombs@comcast.net and maybe we can work something out. Thanks!
